Whether you already know exactly what you want, or only have the start of an idea, I'll be glad to work with you. You may even have a site up, or just a part of one. Any of these are fine. The real goal is to create a site that you feel best represents you business and intentions, as well as one which will be readily adaptable as your business changes and grows.
Here are some examples of my work. I have ongoing relationships with most of these site owners, and continue to update their sites as they request.
Ease Into It
This is a fairly simple site for articles and blogging. I did all the graphic design here, going for a clean, safe feel. The tree image in the top header is from a photograph I took years ago of a cypress tree in Wimberley, TX. Like most of the sites I am doing lately, this one is written in CMSMadeSimple, a free, open source program that can be customized in a great number of ways.

Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty
This group is one of my oldest clients. Recently, they had me completely redesign their website, giving it both a new look and new functionality. I designed all their background images, including the Lady Justice at the top of the page. The main thing, though, is the new content management system (CMS) that allows them to maintain their site largely without my help. Using the simple tools I set up for them, they can easily edit their pages, add new ones, put out regular bulletins, create new forms, and much, much more.

Richard S. Barnett
Mr. Barnett is a longtime client of mine, and recently, he decided to create this new site, showcasing all of his books. He sent me a great picture of himself, which simply cried out to be the first thing you'd see on his home page.
In order to highlight his picture, I created a magazine-style lay out, to make the text follow the curves of his face. Other pages have some very custom lay out also, some to make text-rich pages easier to read, others to make his product offerings stand out more sharply. All site graphics are custom-made, and began with a marbled end-paper in an antique book owned by Mr. Barnett.
This gentleman offers a regular newsletter, which I also designed; it is a simplified version of the text pages of this site.
The Compleat Joiner
This is the latest version of Mr. Barnett's original website, The Compleat Joiner, which offers a selection of material in his book, "All Kinds of Scented Wood."
On this page we made fun use of pop-up windows to show off the trees which are the subjects of his book. He has made a list of all the types of wood mentioned in the Bible, and here, if you click on the little tree icons, a separate window appears to show pictures of each tree. This was a tactic we chose to allow him to show material on other websites, without taking his visitors away from his site.
The owner, Mr. Barnett, has specifically said he would be happy to recommend my work, and is willing to be emailed for references.
Clear Light Soap
This is the first website I ever made, which I include mainly for fun. It was for a soap company that I used to run, which has now gone to a new owner.
I still think this is one of the prettiest sites I've ever made, and I learned a great deal in the process. All the images here are custom designed. The navigation buttons were made to look like tarot cards. The pages for the shopping cart all have photographs of each of the products that pop up when the viewer clicks them to show the ingredients. This is a nice thing to offer if you have products that have special features or ingredients, or when you want to offer people more information than you wish to put on the page itself.
